A slim device is held just above the skin so that a small plasma arc forms in the gap between the tip and the surface. Each touch creates a tiny, precise point of energy on the outer skin. Placed in a careful pattern across the treatment area, these points cause the surrounding skin to contract on contact.
As the treated area heals, the body clears the tiny spots and lays down fresh tissue, which can help slack or hooded skin around the eyes look tighter and smoother. Because the effect relies on your own healing response, the appearance continues to refine over the following weeks.
The technique is often used on the upper eyelids, the lower-eye area and other spots of fine, crepey skin on the upper face where the skin has lost some of its firmness. A consultation is used to check that the approach suits your skin and to explain aftercare.

I deeply regret having treatment here. After excellent HIFU results on my face with a different provider, I booked for my upper arms, attracted by the low price. The session in September was very uncomfortable and I wasn't offered any numbing cream. Since then I've had persistent pain and weakness in my forearms that has affected my daily life — simple tasks like driving a short distance, hoovering or ironing are exhausting. From my own research, nerve irritation seems a likely cause. I was contacted by two members of staff and offered a further treatment to help. I had an appointment booked well in advance but when I arrived after an 80-mile round trip, the premises was shut and no one was there for nearly half an hour. I've since been offered a credit note, but given the circumstances I feel a refund and reimbursement for travel expenses is entirely reasonable. Neither has been forthcoming. I am still dealing with these distressing side effects.

For anyone thinking of booking, here is my honest account. The booking process via WhatsApp was quick and simple. However, the premises were noticeably run-down compared to the previous clinic location. There was no answer on the intercom when I arrived. The practitioner arrived just before opening time without acknowledging she was late, despite my appointment requesting 15 minutes early check-in. The treatment room was cramped. During the initial consultation the practitioner was texting on her phone, which I found very unprofessional. I felt pressured into paying an additional £30 for a booster and the whole consultation felt rushed with no eye contact or genuine welcome. No post-treatment advice was given, unlike my previous visits to Vivo. For a micro-needling session at £129 I expected a far higher standard of service. A real disappointment compared to previous experiences.

A very poor experience. I booked and paid for a HIFU facial treatment that lasted only 20 minutes. Within a few hours I developed a severe migraine that lasted three days — far beyond the mild headache sometimes mentioned as a possible side effect. When I cancelled my subsequent booked sessions, the clinic refused to refund my deposit despite the next appointment being five weeks away. I found this to be very poor practice. I would not return or recommend.
